Dub yourself something special, get knocked out by the voters. Eh, Mambo McGinley?
On to this week’s show. There are some contenders worth noting. Brooke Burke and partner Derek Hough are definitely a couple furlongs ahead in this race. Lance Bass and partner Lacey Schwimmer (who did a fun spin on “I Kissed A Girl”), Toni Braxton and partner Alec Mazo, Misty May-Treanor and the mighty Maksim, and Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson rounded out the top of the field. Each couple could take the crown, IMHO.
I’m sorry. Though he’s good, that Cody Linley looks too much like Ellen DeGeneres channeling Elvis… and that’s a little weird. Not to mention Bruno’s comment about him being in a candy store…
Among the other dancers there is quite a bit of lackluster. Tony Dovolani’s shirt ripping surely helped Susan Lucci’s cause. Cloris Leachman keeps the audience attentive because she is the wild card, keeping the censor hopped up on Red Bulls.
Usually in a season, though, there is a dancer who continues to advance despite an obvious lack of talent. The most stellar example of that this season was the utterly vapid Kim Kardashian. (Hello in there? Anyone with visible emotions at home?) For once America got it right and ignored the looks factor in favor of skill.
Way to go viewers.
